Won't let the pandemic dampen our spirit of the festivities!

GIIS Ahmedabad with full zeal and vigour celebrated the 74th Indian Independence Day this year, in spite of the COVID-19 situation. Our spirit to celebrate and honour all our corona warriors this pandemic was way too high and thus we decided to have an entire show sketched out for our community title, 'Independence Day, A world Beyond Pandemic'. 

We started with a small ceremony of flag hoisting wherein our respected Principal sir hoisted our country's flag up high in the air and the staff saluted and paid respect to all the brave hearts and corona warriors of the nation who risk their lives to keep us safe round the clock. 

Post the flag hoisting ceremony, we had scheduled an online list of events which included a skit, a dance performance, a song performance, all prepared and performed by our beloved students of GIIS Ahmedabad. The show was mesmerizing and creatively crafted as ever. Since the theme of the celebration was 'A world beyond pandemic', we also invited our corona warrior parents to grace the occasion and share their experiences with us during the show. 

A number of virtual competitions were also held at the campus as a part of the Independence day celebration and the results for the same were declared as well. Our students performed marvelously and it was quite an overwhelming experience to celebrate this day virtually. 

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our parents who put their faith in us and stood with us throughout the pandemic and whose positive words and motivation are our source of motivation to do more. We assure our students and parents that we would come up with many such virtual events and activity sessions because we strongly believe that our children's growth should not be hampered at the cost of this pandemic.
