In the year 2013, GIIS East Coast Singapore saw a dream of introducing a platform that gave students an opportunity to explore plethora of qualities within themselves. This dream was successfully commemorated in year 2013-2014, in form of the first ever Real World Challenges Convention (RWCC) hosted by GIIS East Coast, Singapore in their campus.
The fourth RWCC - 2017 competition reflected high verve of preparation, enthusiasm and galore with an aim of bringing together students from different geographies and cultural backgrounds onto a single platform, and giving them an opportunity to address issues and find their solutions by working as one. Students from GIIS India and its other campuses across Asia and UAE also took part in series of events conducted to bring out their ideas through the means of Art, Essay, OPUS, Quality circle and Turncoat among others.
This year’s theme was “ICE” i.e. Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship that aimed at fostering entrepreneurial skills and creativity among students. All Global Indian International School (GIIS) schools came together to celebrate the surfeit talent each campus possesses, and encourage absolute enthusiasm in teaching and learning for a modernized approach towards knowledge. Mr. Kaushik Ghatak – Founder & Director ValuerQwest, graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.
More than 500 students participated in person or in form of their entries sent for the pre-judged competitions. This year’s RWCC competition saw a visible increase in the participation and enthusiasm levels, which was around 10 percent higher than last year’s. Students from GIIS India campuses i.e. Noida, Surat, Indore, Chinchwad, Ahmedabad, and Bangalore along with students from GIIS Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, & Tokyo) and GIIS Abu Dhabi gave their best in all the categories. The convention was open for all age groups ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
GIIS India bagged quite a few laurels in various categories this year, making us all the more proud of our young representatives. Teams like GIIS Ahmedabad and Indore teamed up for one of the categories named OPUS, and emerged as winners in the same. They prepared and practiced for the competition through video conferencing which showcases the amount of dedication and seriousness each GIIS India participant exercised to sweep accolades at the most awaited global competition of GIIS.

Our pool of judges had a tough time in deciding the winners as each participating team showcased outstanding calibre. They did a spectacular job of finalizing the entries and then deciding the winners for the each event i.e. pre judged and on the spot competitions.
We are extremely thankful to every entity who has contributed in making this event a huge success. A special thank you to all the parents, teachers, and staff members of Team GIIS India and Asia for grooming children to best of their capabilities and capacities. Every student who took part in the competition made us proud by their mere participation as all that matters is how much effort one puts in to being successful.
