Recognising Global Indians worldwide, GIIS partners Times Now for ‘NRI of the Year’ award

Second season of pioneering award to cover larger Indian Diaspora worldwide by inviting nominations from Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong and Thailand

NRI of the YearFor the second consecutive year, Global Indian International School (GIIS) partners international English TV news channel TIMES NOW to recognise high-achieving non-resident Indians through NRI of the Year award. In its second season, the award will cover a larger Indian Diaspora base, as it invites nominations from any Non Resident Indian (NRI), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) residing in USA, Canada, Singapore, UK, and Middle East including Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait.

This year, for the first time, the award also invites nominations from Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong and Thailand. The award will honour individuals from different walks of life in the various categories, which include:

  • Entrepreneur
  • Philanthropy / Social Good
  • Professional
  • Art and Culture
  • Academics (Global Student of the Year presented by Global Indian Foundation, Singapore)

The Singapore-based not-for-profit organisation, Global Indian Foundation (GIF) will award the ‘Global Indian Special Award’ to recognise the outstanding contribution by an individual who has empowered the community and unfurled the spirit of India internationally. GIF will also present the ‘Global Student of the Year Award’ to recognise students who have undertaken exemplary initiatives towards betterment of the society, accompanied by exceptional academic achievements. Invitation to nominate high-achieving students

Global Indian International School invites parents and students to nominate eligible candidates for the ‘Global Student of the Year’ award, which will be presented by Global Indian Foundation.

Eligibility

Students who are currently pursuing secondary level education, graduate or post-graduate degree in any of the following countries are eligible to apply for the award.

  • Asia Pacific: Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia
  • Middle East: UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait and other countries in Middle East
  • United State of America
  • United Kingdom
