Global Indian International School (GIIS) has introduced Detailed Assessment (DA) for students of classes 3 to 8 across its three campuses in Singapore. A topic-wise diagnostic tool, DA aims to assess the level of comprehension of a topic among students and provide immediate feedback to teachers in order to proactively improve student performance.

DA is an assessment tool that formulates customised assessment programs in accordance with the school curriculum and presents immediate detailed feedbacks on individual student performance. The tool will be implemented for assessing topics in Science, Mathematics and English for classes 3 to 8.

The interactive tool is provided by Educational Initiatives (EI), an organisation founded by IIM-A alumni that enables improvement in student performance through futuristic educational solutions across various regions, including North America, Middle East and South East Asia.

Key benefits of Detailed Assessment (DA)

• Provide proactive testing methods rather than reactive reflections of past performance. This will enable the school to measure the progress of each student, effectiveness of teaching and offer provisions for continuous future improvement.
• Students will receive a detailed report on their performance pointing out the areas that require attention and pointers on methods to enhance performance.
• Help reduce stress on teachers by preparing the assessment papers according to the curriculum taught in the class and provides a feedback within 48 hours of the assessment.
• Provide a dashboard for educators, students and parents to step up performance at every stage of education.

How does Detailed Assessment (DA) work?

	Syllabus followed by the school is collected and customised test papers are designed based on Learning Objectives
	Teacher teaches a topic in class
	Teacher logs into the DA system via the myGIIS portal
	Teachers sees the chapters listed on DA and selects chapters for the test
	The test gets delivered to the teacher on the system
	Teacher administers the online test via myGIIS
	Results are delivered within 48 hours
	Student, Teacher and Principal Report are received

Reports and Analysis

DA will bring a vital value-addition to the assessment system by providing an inference on student performance and ways to improve upon the same. Reports will be generated student-wise, class & section wise and overall level, enabling teachers and coordinators to identify gaps in learning and take immediate remedial action to improve student performance.
