Achieving remarkable success in IB examination, Global Indian International School’s class of 2016 has created history by having two IB World Toppers and four near-perfect scorers. This year, Amitesh Sivaraman and Rasika Kale emerged as IB World Toppers with a perfect score of 45 points, while Aarushi Khandelwal, Revvand Rajesh, Sundeep Veluchamy and Sibiranjith Nagesh secured a near-perfect score of 44 out of 45 points. Overall, the cohort achieved excellent results as 31% of the students’ secured 40 points and above. The school average stands at 37 points, which is 22.5% higher than the world average.
Both Rasika and Amitesh are elated to be IB World Toppers and have been with GIIS for over 12 years. According to Amitesh, “The teachers went an extra mile to clarify my doubts and to help me finish my assignments, always offering constructive feedback whenever I needed it.” He joined GIIS in 2001 (Kindergarten) and is a trained violin player. Despite of taking four Higher Level (HL) subjects in science he got perfect scores of 45 out of 45. He has enrolled at National University of Singapore (NUS) with an aspiration to become a Mechanical Engineer.
Another IB world topper, Rasika has been with GIIS since 2002 and studied at GIIS Queenstown Campus from classes 1 till 12. “The credit of my success goes to my teachers, parents and the school. My parents motivated me, while my teachers made sure that I was well-prepared for the exam,” said Rasika. She will pursue her further studies at Imperial College London in UK.
