Ms Sutha Ramakrishnan, Coordinator, IGCSE at GIIS Queenstown Campus says that the IGCSE Class 10 students were able to achieve such phenomenal result as an outcome of the strategies adopted by the school team of dedicated and committed teachers. “Bench marking sessions enabled students to set and achieve targets, focused and personalised remedial sessions and well structured intensive coaching prepared them to handle all levels of difficulty. Also carefully thought and structured pre board examinations enabled students to gain a first hand examination experience before the actual exam thus equipping them with the strength to handle exam stress.”

“Every chapter was introduced with a recapitulation of grass root level fundamentals,” says Mr Nandakumar, Maths Teacher. “This ensured a thorough understanding of the concept and its application. Authentic situations were used to create interest for the subject. Follow up work, regular feedback helped reinforce learning and doubt clearing. Other strategies that enabled student success was early completion of syllabus to facilitate many cycles of revision. Special attention was given to different ability learners to improve their performance.”

13 students appeared in the first Class 10 IGCSE batch from GIIS East Coast Campus and have brought laurels to the school.
