A ninety-one member delegation from the Association of Tokyo Boards of Education visited GIIS Tokyo Campus on October 11, 2013, to explore the reasons behind the success of the Indian education system. Their goal was to specifically learn more about best practices in student achievements and education strategy adopted by GIIS. This was the first time a delegation from the Tokyo Education Board visited the school.
In June 2013, the school received a request from the Association of Tokyo Boards of Education for visiting the campus and learning more about the school. GIIS Tokyo Campus was shortlisted as a prospective school along with various other schools.
Ms Rajeswary Sambathrajan, Principal, GIIS Tokyo Campus, welcomed the members of the delegation at the school following which the members proceeded to observe all the classes. They toured the school campus and had exchanges with teachers and students. Later, the delegation members were split into groups to make it easy for them to observe the maximum number of classes. They expressed their appreciation for the teaching methodologies adopted in the Math lab activity class, Yoga and IT classes.
