GIIS Surat proudly hosted the 3rd Inter-GIIS Chess and 2nd Inter-GIIS Cricket Tournament on 25th January 2016.
The Third Inter-GIIS Chess Championship 2015-16 for students of GIIS campuses of Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Surat, Noida, Indore, Hyderabad, Chinchwad and Tokyo to participate in an exigent competition was held on 25th January 2016 with great fervour. The chess tournament was conducted with the assistance of Surat District Chess Association, which provided all the required assistance from timers to adjudicators.

The Inter-GIIS Cricket Tournament; one-day match was played between GIIS campuses of Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Surat, Noida, Indore, Hyderabad and Chinchwad following the rules of ICC. A total of 7 matches were played consisting of 8 overs each side. The highpoint of the match was the Rolling Trophy sponsored by the Cricket legend, Mr. Chandu Borde.
Under his leadership GIIS has launched in all its campuses across the globe, the Chandu Borde Global Cricket Academy that shapes the students to become superior cricketers. The Surat District Cricket Association supported us by providing Umpires, Scorer and Commentators.
