Global Indian International School Surat organised an informative ‘Career Guidance Program’ for its students of class 9 and 10.

Have you come across someone with a degree in tasting tea and coffee? Or have heard of a degree in food flavouring, museology (museum studies), pet grooming or carpet technology!

These questions were extraneous a few years ago. But, today the youth is a scintillating package of smartness, courage and intelligence. They don’t want to become mere drops in the sea of professionals out there and get lost amidst the surging aspirants looking for routine career options. Gone are the days when business managers, chartered accountants or the cliché government jobs were considered ‘miracles from heaven’. What entices those standing on the threshold of their professional lives is a career in aeronautics engineering, defense piloting, content curating, digital and interactive media, forensic studies, entomology (studying insects and arthropods that impact human life) and cultural studies, to name a few

The career guidance program began with a presentation on the new assessment pattern and the existing evaluation system for class 10. And, later on Mr. Pradeep Narayanan from Admizzionz Campuz, a career counselling academy, guided the students about multiple career opportunities. He emphasized on multifaceted progress of the students and diverse career options which are available today.

The session witnessed participation from the students as well as their parents. During the question hour many parents came up with interesting queries about their child’s career and they said that such interactive programs help immensely in selecting better career prospects. The program helped to bridge the gap between students’ career dilemmas and interesting ways to pursue a ‘happening’ career!
