Global Indian International School believes in the holistic development of its children. Debates, competitions and quizzes stimulate the brain and the ability to think quickly and deliver to the best of their abilities. The children of today need to be equipped for an ever-evolving world of tomorrow.

Taking this thought forward, GIIS Surat has been holding Colloquium, the Academic Fiesta for the last three years to hone the academic skills of students from different schools of Surat. Students look forward to attending this much sought after event and take part in various competitions like English Debate Competition on current affairs topic, Maths Quiz, Power Point presentation Competition on the social causes. To showcase stage talents students recited poems and enthralled the audience with fancy dress competition. The participating schools for Colloquium were:

8. Vibrant International Academy

To judge this competition a panel of judges were invited from various walks of life. All the contestants and their accompanying teachers received a traditional welcome by the students of GIIS Surat as they arrived at the premises before they were escorted to the audio-visual room for the inauguration ceremony. Mr. C. S. Jariwala, President, South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the first Vice Chairman of Sarvajanik Education Society, Surat was the Chief Guest of Colloquium 2015. The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest who encouraged the students to develop competitive edge by participating in various competitions and workshops. Dr. NKP. Ashok Raj, Principal GIIS Surat welcomed the participants and the audience to the event. He felicitated Mr. Jariwala with a bouquet, shawl and memento.

Dr. Ashok Raj, Principal GIIS Surat said, ‘Colloquium is a knowledge sharing platform for students and Global Indian International School will continue to host this Academic Fest every year. We would like to ensure that every child gets an opportunity to showcase his or her talent through healthy competitions in varied fields related to academics, life skills, inter-personal and intra-personal skills, reasoning and analytics. Students interact and exchange knowledge with students of other schools. This will help all participating students from across schools to remain interconnected and gain insight into the larger knowledge pool. This is the essence of global education.”
