Independence Day is celebrated every year at the school campuses to educate and remind the students about the nation@aps@s Independence movement to free India from the British Empire on 15th August 1947 and pay homage to the great leaders who played an inspiring role towards freedom of our country "India" and taking it forward. The bond of brotherhood and the need to live in communal harmony for the growth and prosperity of the land.
GIIS Surat celebrated 69th Independence Day on 15th August 2105 in school campus with flag hoisted by Ms. Vrushti Patel, a student of GIIS Surat. The programme followed by flag song and Indian national song sung by school choir. Inspirational speeches were delivered in English and Hindi by teachers Ms. Amatullah and Dr. Vandana respectively. GIIS Surat Students also exhibited their talent with a beautiful Kathak and Fusion Dance. Dr. Ashok Raj, Principal, GIIS Surat delivered a speech emphasising on why we should be proud to be an Indian. The programme ended with a celebration lunch at the cafeteria.
