The Scholastic Environment Fund (SEF) Oratory Competition 2017 was jointly organized by SEF and ISS, in September 2017 and students from GIIS Queenstown participated in the competition with huge spirit.
The aim of the SEF Oratory Competition is to provide an opportunity for students to showcase both their oratorical and problem solving skills by identifying, researching and providing solutions to environmental problems. The competition had both group and solo categories.
This year's theme was, "Do electronic devices promote environment friendly practices?" Participants were expected to look at the problem holistically, research the topic, prepare a visual presentation, and then deliver their speeches.
Students were judged based on their creativity, feasibility, research and delivery. After the speech, participants had to answer questions posed by the panel of judges.
