February is a month of preparation and smart study for students gearing up for Grade 10 board examinations that commences in March. From teachers to parents, everyone is worried for their children to perform well in exams and shine out with bright colours. What we often tend to forget is that preparation is all about quality knowledge one can get and how one can utilize it while appearing in the most awaited and sort after school examination.
To brush up their concepts and understanding falling within the peripherals of the social science syllabi given by CBSE, a revision based quiz contest was organized by GIIS Noida for grade 10 students of GIIS Indore and Surat. Ms. Vaishali Singh - TGT Social Science, GIIS Noida collated and presented the quiz covering four aspects of the subject i.e. History, Civics, Geography, and Economics. History questions were based on Rise of nationalism in Europe and the age of industrialization, Civics on challenges of democracy and its outcomes, Geography on lifelines of national economy and resources & development, and Economics on Money and credits & consumer rights.
The objective was to allow students test themselves and their knowledge in regards to the subject, and give them an opportunity to have a clear picture of the preparation; how much they know and where their preparation stands. After attempting a set of 41 questions in total, students of GIIS Indore won the preparatory competition for the subject undertaken.
Whoever may have won, what matters is how students cope-up with the stress they face during the onset of the board examination. Percentage is not what defines one’s credibility or intelligence, it’s how well you put your knowledge in action.
