30th January is most poignant day in India’s history. It’s the day when Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated by NathuRam Godse in front of his followers and well-wishers. He was and still is the greatest Martyrs of all times who not only brought freedom to our country, but also worked towards the welfare and progress of the nation.
Saluting the freedom fighters who laid their lives for our country’s freedom, Global Indian International School (GIIS) Noida conducted a special assembly on 30th January in its Multi-Purpose Hall. Guest of Honour for the event was Ms. Vaishali Borde – National Head Academics - Co-scholastics and Pre – Primary. Speaking on the occasion, she enlightened everybody on Gandhian values every GIIS member swears by, and discussed about importance of Anger and Health Management for students for a better future and balanced life.
The tribute began by singing Sarvdharam prayer after garlanding of the Mahatma Gandhi Statue, which is a symbol of peace, freedom and wisdom for us all. School choir presented a beautiful dedication by singing a bhajan named “Vaishnav Jan” thereafter. Students from grade 4 took over the stage and sang “Sarfaroshi ki Tamanna” written by Ram Prasad Bismil. The hall echoed with patriotism as the whole school sang along with utmost patriotism and emotions.
Moving towards the closure, Ms. Nandita Dasgupta – Principal, GIIS Noida spoke about the importance of freedom we have got due to the sole efforts of our Martyrs. Taking anger and health management agenda forward, Ms. Nandita emphasized on the impact mismanagement of these issues cause to our life and personality as a whole.
