We are happy to announce that the first Inter-GIIS Chess Championship will be held between campuses from Noida, Indore, Surat, Bangalore and Chinchwad. GIIS students are all set to challenge their mental skills to analyse, pre-empt , reason and beat each other in a healthy game of chess. Students from Classes 3 to 7, who have passionately taken up the game of chess as their hobby and are training on the same will go through the selection round and 3 or 4 players from each campus will be shortlisted to represent their school. The Inter GIIS Chess Championship will be conducted in the Swiss League Format with 6 rounds. Each round will be of 30 minutes, i.e. each player will have 15 minutes on his clock. The pairing (choosing of the opponent) will be done through a software and the individual having maximum number of points after the last round will be declared as the Winner. (win - 1pt ; loss - 0pt ; draw - 0.5pt). All basic rules will be as given by the World Chess Federation (FIDE). Team points averages will be considered for the Team Prizes.
