The GIIS Inter-Campus Elocution Competition was held on 14th of August 2013. The competition was held over video conference with GIIS Indore, Surat, Chinchwad and Bangalore.

The topic given to the participants was ‘I’m proud to be an Indian because....’. Two students from each campus participated from classes 5 to 7. Mrs. Preeti Katyal, Mr. Rajeev Katyal and Ms. Vreeta Bohra were the judges for the competition.

From the Noida campus, Ms. Punam Singhal, Ms. Sunita Jaisingh, Ms. Chhavi Swarup and Ms. Gagandeep Kaur attended the VC along with the three judges in the conference room. Ms. Vaishali Borde conducted the competition from Chinchwad Campus.

There were 10 participants in all. Each student spoke with great enthusiasm and spirit. All students were judged on content, time, diction, poise and delivery. After the students delivered their speeches, the judges were left to discuss and tally their results, albeit a difficult decision. The first position was won by Tanisha Shetty of GIIS Noida and Second position was held by Khyati Vallampatti of GIIS Chinchwad. The third position was taken by Dhairya Ajmera of GIIS Indore. Consolation prizes were given to Abhaysingh Rajpurohit of GIIS Surat and Sachi Desai of GIIS Bangalore and it was a tie between GIIS Noida and GIIS Chinchwad for the Champion’s Trophy. Suryaansh Jain and Tanisha Shetty of Class 5 received the Champion’s Trophy at Noida.

The students exhibited confidence and poise while facing audiences across campuses. It is indeed an exposure for students of GIIS to master communication skills in an environment geared by technology.
