“Winning is not everything, but making the effort to do it is” - this is true for our Taekwondo team who went for the Taekwondo Promotion Cup, 2016 at Common Wealth Games Sports Complex.

GIIS Noida is an institute of Holistic Development, which focuses on imparting great education to its apprentices in all spheres of life. Be it academic, extra-curricular or sport activities, GIIS Noida has been promoting all round development to its students since day one. Many students from different classes have actively been taking part in various sports activities, one out of which is Taekwondo.

Recently, GIIS Noida bagged the second runner’s up trophy in Taekwondo Promotion cup cum competition held on 24th April, 2016. Students from grade 3, 4, 5 and 6 participated the Promotions cup, wining bronze, gold and silver medals in various categories of rounds held. The rounds were as per age and weight categories.

Priyanshu Kandpal of grade 5, Parikshkrit of grade 6 and Aishwarya Shukla of grade 3 won Bronze medal. Three students namely: Gauri Kaushal (grade 6), Naman Nagar (grade 5) and Sneha (grade 3) won a silver medal each. Kananpreet Kaur of grade 3 and Ananta Arora of grade 6 became masters of the even by bagging a gold medal for their exceptional performance in the event.

The credit for this success surely goes to the efforts made by our students and their coach Mr. Amit who has been training these budding players on the likes of the game. Each one of them has been trained for months, due to which such great results have been reaped. The children who participated were thrilled to represent the school at the event, bringing laurels to the school. We surely are proud of our little taekwondo players, who not only showcased exceptional skills while playing but also won many events during the same.
