For the bond of love and care; GIIS Noida celebrates Raksha Bandhan

Graduating Batch of 2021 All Ready to Set Sail !!

Raksha Bandhan in Sanskrit means "the tie or knot of protection". The word Raksha means protection, while Bandhan is the verb to tie. It is an ancient Hindu festival that Indians across the world celebrate every year to honour the bond siblings share with each other. As the customary ritual goes, sisters, to express their love and fondness for their brothers, tie a thread around their brother’s wrist. And brothers in turn promise to protect them by all means and under all circumstances.

Keeping in mind the importance of this festival and the value it holds in our lives, a special assembly was conducted by grade 2 students of GIIS Noida in the school premises. The assembly started with remembering the almighty, followed by students of grade 2D sharing the importance of the festival in India. A short mime along with a song was also presented to mark the importance of the day being celebrated.

A special visit to ‘Shankara Special School’ was organized by the school authorities for grade 1 and 2 students to sensitize them about the value of sharing love and joy with the underprivileged. Students were super enthusiastic to meet these kids and had also created handmade rakhies and cards for them. This gesture by our little stars was able to spread happiness across the Shankara Special School’s vicinity, as little faces could be seen beaming with joy and hope of a better tomorrow. GIIS Noida students also shared sweets and made some beautiful memories that will be cherished by each individual for a long time.

The objective behind conducting such activities is to educate the young generation about the importance of sharing with the less fortunate section of the society. After all sharing is caring, and we at GIIS Noida believe in sharing all we can to make life a little easy for the underprivileged. Our little gestures of sharing like this one did make a positive impact in lives of these underprivileged children.

Let’s join hands to spread love and happiness by extending a helping hand to the needy.
