Basketball is a sport liked and played by people of all ages. This intense and fast paced sport has been designed in way that it develops hand and eye coordination, and endurance in the player alongside other competitive abilities. Understanding its value during the growth years, GIIS has placed basketball as one of its most important sports across all campuses worldwide.

An avid example of sport excellence at GIIS Noida is a recent feather in our cap - Tanvi Suri, who brought laurels to the school by winning varied state and district level championships. Her most recent achievement is 2nd runners-up trophy in the 22nd Sub-Junior U.P. State Basketball Championship 2016 held in Agra.

Tanvi got selected from Gautam Budh Nagar District’s Under-14 team. She got selected after competing against the students coming from different schools of Noida and Greater Noida. Post a series of elimination rounds, twelve odd students were selected to represent the district in the eminent championship. A total of 20 teams from all the regions of India were selected for the finals held at Holy Public School, Agra in June. After a series of competitive matches, Tanvi along with her team qualified for the semi-final round, paving her way to the finals and finally winning the 2nd runners-up trophy.

We are happy and proud to have competitive students like her, who not only make a name for themselves in sports, but also bring laurels to the school by winning accolades of honor, wherever they go.
