Antara Srivastava of GIIS Noida wins the Inter-School Painting Competition

Real World Challenges Convention

Students of GIIS Noida participated in the Ninth Annual Inter School Painting Competition 2016 conducted by SETU Foundation at Mayoor School, Noida.  Six students from the campus went to participate in On-The Spot Painting Competition organized to promote awareness about environmental issues, unity in being a diverse country, etc., thus steering minds of students for their creative good.

SETU Foundation is a charitable organization that works with a mission to save and empower the underprivileged section of the society. Its idea is to work with likeminded people/organizations who share similar values of transparency and accountability. Its mission is to play a vital role in Enabling the growth of under privileged children, caring for human health, and providing support to improve lives of elderly people across India.

Speaking about the competition, 6 girls from Global Indian International School Noida went to participate under different age groups. Beginning with “On the Spot Painting Competition”, all the participants were made to practice probable topics, and guided through their research work, before participating in the competition. Ms. Shazia Sadar, Art & Craft teacher at GIIS Noida, had been preparing the students on various aspects of painting, colour scheme and presentation as a whole.

Schools like Cambridge School, Ryan International, and 22 other schools run by various NGOs participated in the competition. Also, differently abled students coming from various schools were a part of the competition too, as SETU believes in providing a common platform to all the students, irrespective of their abilities and physical conditions. As the competition moved towards its closure, the final judgment was presented in sign language by the panel of judges.

Anatara Srivastava (Grade 7) of GIIS Noida made us proud by winning the Frist Prize at the painting Competition. She was felicitated with a gold medal for showcasing exceptional skills and thought process used while painting. Other 5 students were also felicitated with participation certificates.
