A Walk down the Memory Lane; Eminent Personalities visit GIIS Noida

GIIS Model United Nations (MUN) conference

Over the years, numerous eminent personalities have visited the campus promoting creativity and personality development among students. Since GIIS as a brand believes in imparting quality education with global exposure, our students often get a chance to interact with personalities of great demeanour. People from different spheres of life have come to share their vast knowledge and teachings, which directly has impacted our students’ lives in some ways or other.

Legendary Gandhian and Maharastra Gaurav Purushkar winner, Dr. Justice C.S. Dharmadhikari lighted the campus with his positive aura as he inaugurated the Mahatma Gandhi Centre of Universal Values (MGCUV) at GIIS Noida. The centre he inaugurated is used by our students to learn and inculcate great values of Mahatma Gandhi and other eminent leaders. Gandhi Ji’s thoughts and teachings are made accessible to our students through lesson plans, hands on activities, and selective extracts.

Serving cricket as a religion, Mr. Chandu Borde – Ex Captain of Indian National Cricket Team and Ex-Chairman Selection Committee BCCI inaugurated the Chandu Borde Global Cricket Academy (CBGCA). The academy he inaugurated trains prospect cricketers in the likes of the game. Children being trained are examined by Mr. Borde himself and his team of incredible experts. He makes periodic visits to the campus and guides students while monitoring their growth graphs on regular intervals.

Accompanying Mr. Chandu Borde on the launch of CBGCA was Mr. Chetan Chauhan – famous Indian Cricketer and Member of Parliament. A well-known cricketer who played good 40 test matches for team India as Guest of Honor was invited to address our students, pacifying their curiosity towards the world of cricket.

Five times World Chess Champion, Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand inaugurated the Mind Champion’s Academy (MCA) for our campus students. The academy has been launched as an initiative to produce great chess champions who in future represent India at national and international tournaments. The objective is to provide GIIS students with a launch pad that not only takes care of their co-scholastic learning and training, but also help them to excel in the field of chess.

As a part of Interactive Sessions on rich heritage of our country, Ms. Sharon Lowen – An Odissi Exponent was invited to interact with our students and give them first-hand experience on the dance form. Global Indian International School (GIIS) Noida in association with SPIC MACAY – an organization that promotes art and cultural heritage to the youth, keeps on organizing such events for the benefit of our students. Ms. Lowen during the session shared her knowledge and gave our students a delightful insight on the Odissi dance form.

Padmasree Singhajit Singh & Dr. Charu Sija Mathur – famous Manipuri dancers graced a SPIC MACAY event on dance heritage in school campus. Both the exponents shared their vast knowledge on the likes of the dance form, educating our students on the technicalities of the subject. This event was also done to promote the cultural heritage and art to the youth of the country.

Teachers, Students, and staff member of the GIIS family across globe have been bestowed with extreme guidance and teachings of these personalities, who by visiting the campus have undoubtedly enriched our path of learning and achieving success without losing the actual meaning to life.
