Interdisciplinary Hi-Q competition held exclusively for kindergarteners at Mountbatten campus

EC Earth Day

‘Brain Blitz’ is a GK module for K2 (senior kindergarten) students. Through this module, GIIS try to arouse interest in students about a range of topics other than the monthly thematic topics done in class, which makes it interdisciplinary. An extension of this module is the annual inter campus Hi-Q quiz competition.

On September 11, for the first time Mountbatten campus hosted this competition with a total of 32 K2 pupils from GIIS Balestier, Queenstown, East Coast and Mountbatten campuses participating enthusiastically. Four participants were divided into a team having one representative from each campus. Altogether there were 8 teams, named after the eight planets, working closely to make it to the finals. Mazes, spot the difference, thinking skill activities, language rounds, concept rounds, rebus sentences, completing nursery rhymes etc. were some of the rounds students had to go through.

The students thoroughly enjoyed answering the wide range of questions posed to them. Gold, silver and bronze trophies were distributed to the winners, 1st runners-up and 2nd runners-up respectively and the other participants were given participation certificates. It was a great learning experience for all the participants.
