The GIIS Cambridge organized their 1st fundraising carnival (Camnival) and pledged to contribute all the proceeds to Sai Ananda, a nonprofit dialysis centre in Selayang.  The Camnival took place on a beautiful sunny day, Friday 24th of June at the open grounds of the school campus. The morning celebration commenced with the principal Mr Harvendra Singh Khalsa officially inaugurating the Camnival with the students of various Clubs such as Give Club, Horizon Club and SENSE Club showcasing their artistic and creative abilities which were indeed a crowd puller.  Mr Manoj Nair, the country director graced the occasion by supporting the noble cause with a handsome number of tickets. It was encouraging to see our director and principal on the ground with the along with the students of Cambridge participating enthusiastically and showing a willingness to help out with the running of the events.

The school grounds pulsated with a lively crowd.  The carnival had something in store for everybody. A very special segment catering to the interest of the kids included a variety of games such as ‘Pin the moustache on Hitler,’ ‘Water Balloon Challenge’, ‘The Incredible Maze,’ and  ‘Perfect Copy’. Face painting and sand art were added attractions. An array of edible delights like burgers, hot pizzas, smoothies, cheezy sausages, vegetable briyani, chicken briyani and exciting prizes for games ensured an unforgettable time for the participants. As the saying goes, ‘A carnival isn’t complete without a haunted house’ it was proved as all the children refused to end their fun day without an adventurous tour into ‘Tomb of Tutankhamun’.

The zest and zeal exhibited by the enthusiastic students made the 1st GIIS Camnival 2016 a memorable one. See you next year!
