Biking Queens visit Kuala Lumpur Campus

Mr Harvendra Khalsa gave a warm welcome to the Biking Queens. After a brief chat with them, the Queens were led on a Campus tour. The final stop was in the Media Room where Senior Students awaited their arrival eagerly. MS. Sarika Mehta spoke to students about the cause of their journey as well as about the problems and experiences faced by them during their journey.

She asked the girls to be proud of themselves and the boys to be always be supportive of the women in their lives whether it’s their mother or sister. Citing examples of Indian women who due to lack of education were either mistreated or unable to succeed in life she asked the students to make use of the education they are getting to maximize their potential and carry it forward so that in future women are never judged based on their sex.

The continuous decrease in the ratio of girl child per boy child is clearing this issue very well. So, their travels across 10 nations is to raise awareness to prevent sex determination, female foeticide, save girl child, ensure safety of girl child, as well as provide quality education to them.

She spoke of their travels across India, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Malaysia.

Campus Students were enthralled by them and asked many questions about their cause as well as their travels.

Their final stop would be Singapore before they fly home was the answer to one of the questions raised.

GIIS KL bid them adieu with warm wishes for the success of their cause.
