Youth Medley 2016; GIIS Indore felicitates Young Talent

Global Indian International School, Indore hosted a two day extravaganza i.e. Youth Medley on 13th and 14th November, 2016. A variety of competitions like Futsal Inter-school Football event, Solo Singing, GIIS Master Chef, Mime, Dance, Ramp Walk, etc. were organized for students coming from 20 different schools. Out of all the events organized, Futsal Football competition, sponsored by Edusports saw major footfall and participation from students.

Day 1: the opening ceremony took place on 13th November, 2016 and was graced by Mr. Sher Singh Ginnare (Income Tax Officer (Barwani, Environmentalist, Social Worker), Mr.Manish Jaiswal (Director Physical Education SGSITS Engineering College, Member of Umpire panel of BCCI), Mr. Utpal Rao Dongre (RAM Edusports), and Mr. Debdeep Hada- (RDM Edusports). After the torch lighting ceremony, Mr. Sher Singh and Manish Jaiswal wished the participants and encouraged them with motivating words before kicking off the events. While few events were happening indoors (like singing, dancing, etc.), the football event happening outside, lasted for the whole day, at the end of which four teams for the semi-final round were selected.

Day 2: All preparations for the final Gala events were on place. The stage was set. The semi-final round for football had started and the excitement could be seen in the eyes of spectators. Students of the school had put up various stalls of games and a tuck shop. While the football match was taking place, GIIS Master Chef was in making inside the Assembly hall. Delicious food was made to relish which everybody including the judges could not resist eating and praising.

Judging the events were Mr. K.L.Thakral (Chancellor Oriental University), Dr. R.K Jain, Mr. Sumit Suri and Mr. Hemant Suri.

Group dance competition started with a lot of enthusiasm, final round of which took place between GIIS Indore and GEMS Public School. Judging the event were the very famous Ms. Divya Singh (Odyssey Dancer, Choreographer) and D.I.D Finalist Mr. Yogesh Kiroliya.

Numerous performances took place on the final day of the Youth Medley Extravaganza.  Students from Camilia Public School showcased a heart touching MIME based on bravery of soldiers and martyrs. They presented such a heart touching act that moved everyone’s heart and left them teary eyed. Following the MIME presentation was Ramp walk based on 3Rs (Reduce, Recycle, Reuse), in which 4 schools along with GIIS Indore took an ardent part. Each participant had innovatively presented their ideas on the attire worn, some had used plastics, newspapers, disposable cutlery, CDs, DVDs, etc. They truly brought out the need of the hour of saving our Mother Earth from Pollution and focusing on 3Rs. The Chief Guests were extremely impressed and amazed by the performances and talent being displayed by young students.

With an intent of bringing talents from various schools onto a single platform, the Youth Medley came to a beautiful end as the Prize Distribution began to felicitate the winners for their good work. All the chief guests along with Capt. Dr. Dinisha Bhardawaj handed over the prizes to winners from different categories.
