Global Indian International School believes in the holistic development of its children. The younger generation needs to be equipped for an ever-evolving world of tomorrow. Debates, competitions and quizzes stimulate the brain and the ability to think quickly and deliver to the best of one’s abilities. Taking this thought forward, GIIS Indore hosted Youth Medley, a Youth Fest to hone the practical and life skills of students from different schools of Indore.
Youth Medley provided the students with a common platform for exchange of ideas across a diverse and socially responsible group of young ambassadors. It comprised of a plethora of exciting programmes spread over 2 days, both Pre-judged and On-Spot events.

DAY - 1 “YOUTH MEDLEY” was organized at GIIS Indore Campus and 14 schools participated in a football match. All the teams along with their coaches were welcomed by GIIS Indore Jhankar team. Dr. (Capt.) Dinisha Bhardwaj Singh -Principal, GIIS Indore escorted the Chief Guest Mr. Ghanshyam Karole -Sports Officer to the dias. The programme commenced with a parade and salutation by the students as they carried their respective school flags. After the introductory session, the students took oath with Dr. Bhardwaj to play the game with a spirit of sportsmanship and then the Inter-school Mini Football Tournament 2015-16 was declared open. All teams played well with great zeal and enthusiasm. At the end of the match, 4 teams were selected for the semi-final round. The semi-finalists were:

- St. Elizabeth Convent School
- Global Indian International School
- J.J Public School
Next in line were the pre-judged Drawing Competition on ‘Gandhi; the way I see him’ and Essay Competition on ‘Need of Gandhian Values in Modern Society’. Another attraction of the event was the food stall. Children enjoyed the variety of snacks and sweets at food stall.
DAY - 2 The guests for the final event were Mr. Hemant Suri and Mr Sumit Suri-Infrastructure Partners of GIIS and Mr. Ashok Kr. Yadav - D.I.G, B.S.F who graced the stage along with Principal, GIIS Indore. GIIS choir welcomed them with a melodious song. Beautiful Bhajans were presented by GIIS Students, Omni Manwani and Disha Tiwari. The students also presented a Bhangra for the guests and the audience cheered in delight. GIIS Jhankar team also performed their award winning performance.
The four semi-finalists from the previous day’s match played with full dedication and the final match was played between N.D.P.S and J.J. Public School. J.J. Public school emerged winner of the Mini Football Tournament 2015-16.
The other competitions were equally attractive. The theme for Face Painting Competition was ‘Tribals of M.P.’ Chahak Agrawal of Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar won the first prize and Hiteshi Singh of Choithram International School won the second position and Aman Tiwari of Sai-Shree International School was a close contestant who won the third position.
‘Go green’ ‘Harmony with nature’ and ‘Eco friendly innovations of sustainable measures’ were topics for Fashion Show Competition and was executed in style by the students and their teachers. The winners were Sai Shree International School for best concept, Sathya Sai Vidhya Vihar for presentation innovation and creativity and GIIS, Indore for workable solutions.
A Fashion Show based on ‘Panchtatva’ was presented by GIIS students from classes I to III and they grabbed the attention of the audience. The result for pre-judged competition was also declared. The prizes were distributed by the guests and the event came to an end with an encouraging speech from Mr Sumit Suri and words of wisdom from the honourable Chief Guest, Mr Ashok Kr. Yadav. A vote of thanks was offered to the guests, audience and the participating teams and everyone sang the National Anthem as their hearts beat as one.
Youth Medley was a conversation starter, an unparalleled learning experience and a platform for exchanging innovative ideas and students dispersed promising to come back for the next year’s Youth Medley.
