Quest for Technology; Inter- school Jr. BAL VIGYAN competition at GIIS Indore

Competitions are the embodiment of hard work and dedication as they let individuals strive for success by putting their best foot forward. With an objective of giving a unique platform to young students, Junior BAL VIGYAN competition was organized by the SAHODAYA group at Global Indian International School (GIIS), Indore.

Every year the SAHODAYA group teams up with a school to organize an inter-school level competition on science, where students from different area of the city participate in giving presentation on various topics. This year, GIIS Indore got an opportunity to team up with the concerned team officials and put up an exciting inter school competition in its campus.

The theme of the event was ‘Technology for better life’. The program had all the elements of exuberance and excitement. Gracing the occasion as chief guests with their gracious presence was Mr. Piyush Saxena- senior scientist, Dept. of Atomic Energy, and currently working on Instrumentation and controls for lasers and particle acceleration at Raja Ramanna centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT) Indore, along with Dr. Ajit Upadhyay - Associate Professor and HOD-Marketing in Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Indore (MP). Mr. Kundan Singh Parmar (post-graduate from CV Raman University) who has worked at Queens College as CCE and HOD of computer Science and is currently heading the Computer Science Dept. at GIIS Indore also graced the occasion as an esteemed chief guest.

Beginning with the lamp lighting and Saraswati Vandana, competition galore was open to begin. Students from various campuses participated in the competition and about 16 teams gave presentation on topics pertaining to computer science and science. Participating teams were asked to submit three sets of project reports to the host school so that based on their project, judges and students from the audience can question the participants on the day of competition. Each school had to go through a question round after presenting their bit. The objective behind conducting a competition on such a grand level was to allow students put thought, and develop scientific and creative thinking abilities which they can utilize for life.

After all the presentations were over, the chief guests for the day shared few inspiring words with the students. Soon after that, winners for various categories were announced. Teams from 16 distinguished schools competed with each other for the titles like best overall schools, best idea related theme category, content and knowledge, aim and utility award, best presentation and best question award. 

After the award ceremony was over, certificates were handed over to teachers from all the schools. Mr. Arpit Vaidya (Primary Coordinator, GIIS Indore) presented a memento as a token of respect and appreciation to our esteemed guests, and presented the vote of thanks.  The program ended with National Anthem and was followed by refreshments. The event came to be a huge success, as it gave students from various schools of Indore an opportunity to interact with other students and gain experience from their participation and outlook.
