My Dad My Superhero - GIIS Indore Celebrates Father’s Day!

Father’s Day

Dad - a daughter’s first love and son’s first hero.

Father’s DayWhen it comes to nurturing and rearing of a child, both mother and father have an equal role to play and duties to perform. Studies have shown that children who are actively involved with their fathers are more confident, emotionally secure, and less likely to go down the wrong paths of drugs, alcohol, etc. in life. Caring and nurturing fathers are capable enough of making their child’s social, linguistic and cognitive skills better than ever.

To tribute this beautiful bond of love and care, GIIS Indore celebrated Father’s Day with huge zeal and vigor. The event was celebrated over three days, where all the classes from pre-primary and primary showcased their enthusiasm in more than one ways. This whole event depicted a very special bond of love and affection a father shares with his children.

First day witnessed a small in class activity, where students from grades I – IX made card for their respective fathers. The touching element was their father’s picture on the card, showcasing that forever bond of love and respect for their daddy dearest. Children got a chance to bring out their creative and innovative talents as they took back those beautiful handmade cards home.

Second Day was marked by a special assembly, which started with seeking blessings from the almighty, after which the school choir presented a heartwarming song dedicated to all the lovely fathers out there. Students spoke poems and rhymes, and even enacted a small play depicting how special the fathers are in child’s life and their very being.

Third day began with an informative session on Nutrition and Child Health, given by Dr. Bhargav (Child nutrition and health specialist). In this session, he discussed about various foods and the importance they hold in child’s physical growth and mental development. He emphasized on eating the right kind of food that helps children in obtaining all the necessary nutrients required for a healthy mind and body. Following this was a cooking without fire competition, where the father-child duo got engaged in some dry cooking of snacks, enjoying a variety of food in the potluck party held afterwards. Top 3 snacks made by the father-child duos were presented with winning certificates and gifts post the last part of the event.

Following this was games which were organized specially for all the fathers present at the celebrations. Games like father and child race, ball in the basket, blow the balloons and burst it in two mins, etc. were played with full enthusiasm and participation. It was a moment of compassion and effort, where all the fathers could be seen putting in best of their efforts to win for their tiny tots. Activities arranged for the father-child duo were organized with an intent of strengthening the bond, making the chemistry and attachment better than ever.

At the end of the day, happy faces could be seen all over the school premises. Memories and fun moments were witnessed, which both the fathers and children would remember for years to come. Not to forget, the sincere effort of our teachers and staff members, who made all the necessary arrangements well in time. Father’s went back home smiling and satisfied, with a hope of coming back again on the next Father’s Day.
