Independence Day celebrations; GIIS Indore salutes freedom fighters

Dipped in patriotism and sheer enthusiasm to mark the 70th year of an Independent India, students of Global Indian International School (GIIS), Indore participated in the Independence Day celebrations with profound joy and zeal.

Commemorating the celebrations with absolute excitement and fervour, a special event was conducted by students of the school in order to pay respects to the freedom fighters and leaders of our nation, for they freed us from the clutches of the British Raj. Gracing the occasion, Mr Naval Singh – Second in Commandant, BSF hoisted the flag high in the sky to mark the sacrifice and integrity of our nation.
Mr. Sumit Suri and Mr. Hemant Suri (Infrastructure partners) also graced the occasion as special invitees for the show. Dr. (Capt.) Dinisha Bhardawaj – Principal, GIIS Indore presented bouquets to the guests as she welcomed each one of them to the celebrations of such glorious victory.

Starting with the celebrations, Abhijeet Solanki of class IX presented a Hindi poem written by our Former Prime Minister Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee. His poem gave a string message to the audience present there and was perfectly apt to the present condition of our nation. The poem spoke about how one’s own actions and deeds stop or make their way towards freedom. Following this thoughtful poem, Shreyas Mirchandani presented speech that talked about our duties towards Nation. His words made us to view India as The Country of our Dreams.

Students from Class VI to IX staged a wonderful cultural dance performance that bagged the maximum praise and applause of the audience and chief guests. Their scintillating performance arouse a spirit of patriotism among each one present. Speaking in the occasion, Mr. Naval Singh – Second in Commandant, BSF motivated our students to become a responsible citizen and perform their duties at all times, as the youth of a country has the ability to move mountains and create history. Mr. Singh has been awarded a Police Medal for gallantry for his exceptional contribution by our former president of India i.e. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

Mr. Hemant Suri guided our students with his precious words as he stressed on the real value of freedom that can only be achieved through true usage of ones rights. Speaking to the students, Dr. (Capt.) Dinisha Bhardawaj, showed the students the real way to celebrate Independence Day, and how our country can progress if youth of country take the charge in the right direction. Ending her speech, she said:

“sar uthane ki tammana ab humare dil mein hai dekhna hai jor kitna bajuye katil mein hai”.
