Grandparents make growing up memorable; GIIS Indore celebrates Grandparents Day

Someone rightly said that - “blessed are those who get a chance to be loved, spoiled and pampered by elderly people, who we fondly call as grandparents.”

Grandparents play an imperative role in every child’s life. They are a child’s support and an ocean of love and affection for them. Having them around while growing helps children in becoming more insightful and thoughtful towards life and things in general. They simply broaden the horizon of love and its meaning for them.

To felicitate and honour support banks of every student, Global Indian International School Indore celebrated Grandparents Day with complete devotion and feeling towards the elderly. To begin with, tiny tots of the school recited shlokas and presented a short speech followed by rhyme recitation on the occasion. As the celebrations moved further, interactive activities were put up for the audience to participate and have a gala time. They were even called upon to speak a few words on the happiness that they get from being a grandparent.

Speaking of the same, Dr. (Capt.) Dinisha Bhardwaj, Principal - GIIS Indore, shared her views on being a grandparent and the crucial role they play in our life. She was overwhelmed to see the enthusiasm and gratitude each grandparent showed during the celebrations.  Each one of them actively participated in activities like quiz, bhajans, and sang melodious songs dedicated to their grandchildren.

With an objective of making the day special for all the GIIS grandparents, the celebrations gave them a wonderful opportunity to bond with children and get to know the love they feel towards them. Overwhelmed with joy, few grandparents even shared their appreciation with us:

“We are amazed at the excellent planning that has gone into the sequence of events presented by the children. This is a wonderful way of helping the children to get rid of their shyness and stage fear in slow degrees.  We were also deeply touched by the strong bonds between the children and the teachers. We are indeed grateful to every member of the Teaching faculty and the staff.  We feel that our children could not have chosen a better school for our grandchildren. Thanks for conducting such a wonderful event especially for Grandparents.  So salute to GIIS for this also.”
