Number Devil

Number Devil

Number DevilThe mathematical adventure between the GIIS campuses of Whitefield and Kula Lumpur was one of the best ways of learning numbers and mathematical operations. The session was based on stories and questions that prompted analytical thinking for students of class III. The Number Devil, lead them to discover the amazing world of numbers: infinite numbers, prime numbers, successors, predecessors and calculations and from those who fumble over fractions to those who solve complex equations in their heads - wind up marvelling at what numbers can do!

The enthusiastic bunch of GIIS Whitefield, Bangalore students presented a funny skit on "The Number Devil". They explained easy ways to learn numbers as they played with them. Students recited a poem that involved numbers from 1 to 10. They also introduced the concept of skip counting in 2@aps@s and 10@aps@s.

Students of GIIS Kuala Lumpur staged a play using masks and props to create an ambience out of story books. Hopping around, wearing rabbit masks and collecting carrots, they multiplied and divided as the play progressed. They grabbed everyone@aps@s attention.

A rapid-fire round of questions by Ms. Sunita Jaisingh, National Head Academics - India, who moderated the session kept the children alert. Students from both the campuses interacted with one another and asked questions as well.

Other GIIS India campuses also joined as audience over video conference and the students were motivated by their presence. It was a great learning experience for the entire batch as they showcased their dramatic skills and academic orientation. Inter-campus interaction helps in improving presentation style pertaining to use of technology, precision of delivery and communication skills. The students look forward to meeting their friends from other campuses and learn through collaboration.
