Kindness Day: Pre-Primary children share Surprises and Messages at GIIS Whitefield

International Festival _ GIIS Whitefield
“Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.”
Princess Diana

The world is in need of kindness and this can be shown in so many ways. The virtue of kindness is like a wave of compassion and humanity that with sparkle the universe with peace and brotherhood. The little wonders of GIIS Whitefield celebrated the essence of kindness by spreading the word of being kind to everyone. They were engaged in a lot of activities throughout the day and everything was so special about the Kindness Day.

As William Arthur Ward said, ‘A warm smile is the universal language of kindness," the importance of being kind was beautifully explained by the students of KG 2 E in their general assembly. They started off by explaining what kindness with the help of wonderful quotes. The little wonders shared thoughts and quotes on kindness. They further shared about the myriad ways in which they could do small daily random acts of kindness. They were clad like butterflies. The theme of kindness was showcased in a Skit on Colour Robot. This was followed by a rhyming Kindness song sung by all the children with cute actions.

The Nursery cherubs has a lovely surprise for the students of Grade 9.  Age is never a factor to show a kindness gesture. A fine act of kindness was shown in a cute way by the Nursery students, the youngest wonders of GIIS Whitefield. They all went to see the Grade 9 students with balloons. The eldest batch of the school welcomed the tiny tots and received their token of kindness with gratitude. Many words on acts of kindness such as 'be polite, be kind, sharing is caring, do not bully were written on the balloons. As they gave the balloons, the expressions were priceless and joyful.

There were creative activities for the students of KG 1 and KG 2 around the theme ‘Kindness’. It was wonderful to see them make paper crowns with Kindness phrases like ‘Be polite’ and they wore them on their head as they went back home. Similarly, the kindness hearts looked beautiful and they really loved showing off their creative takeaway.

Kindness day was very informative because of the positive aspects that were shared by the Pre-Primary classes of GIIS Whitefield. This was a reiteration of the fact that everyone should be kind, irrespective of their age, religion or class.
