Investiture Ceremony 2017-18: Shaping the Future Leaders at GIIS Whitefield

GIIS Whitefield welcomed a new dawn on 24th July, 2017 to congratulate the emerging leaders of the newly selected Student Council, the promising young GIIS leaders for the Academic Session 2017-18. 

As the sun beamed with positive energies and blessings from the partially cloudy sky, GIIS Whitefield was all set for the Investiture Ceremony of the Student Council for the academic session 2017-18. The Prefect Mistress of the Student Council, Ms. Aparna Kannan gave the welcome speech. This was followed by the auspicious lighting of the lamp ritual by the respected Principal - Mr. Ganesh Sharma, the Head Mistress Pre-Primary School - Ms. Preetha D'Mello, the Coordinators  Ms. Aracha Sinha and Ms. Swati A Mishra. The teachers and the students were present to witness the Investiture Ceremony.

The students were officially vested with their powers and positions. They were conferred with their respective badges by the Principal. The Student Council comprised of the Head Boy, Head Girl, Sports Captain, Sports vice-Captain, Discipline Captain, Cultural Secretary, House Captains, House Vice-Captains, Hygiene Captain, Literary/Editorial Committee Prefect, Cafeteria Committee Prefect and a Young GIIS representing the Pre-Primary segment. This was followed by solemn oath taking by the Student Council with regard to their duties and responsibilities under the guidance of their Principal. Then, the Principal gave a motivating speech for the newly formed council members. His inspiring words and support will be a strength for the student council to emerge as successful leaders.

Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality. So it is for the Student Council of GIIS Whitefield!

The Head Boy and the Head Girl spoke about the roles and responsibilities of the Student Council for the academic session 2017-18. The Student Council will be responsible to see that the code of conduct of the school is communicated to all the students in the right meaning and manner. The student council will ensure active participation of every student in academics, sports, art, music and cultural activities. The student council will be receptive to students' needs and opinions and engage in proactive communication. It will lead the way forward and bring about positive change. The members will showcase good leadership qualities and they will ensure that there will be peace, harmony and social responsibility among all the students of Global Indian International School (GIIS).

The members of the student council took a pledge of accepting their duties through a musical presentation. They conveyed the message that they will imbibe courage as an inner strength to carry out their duties in the most efficient manner.  The Investiture Ceremony was marked complete with the Vote of thanks by the Coordinator Ms. Swati A Mishra. She wished the Student Council the very best in their endeavours in school and in life.
