Sports Excellence is one of the virtues that every GIISian is offered as part of the curriculum. This is one of the important GEM of the 9 GEMS holistic learning methodology. The Sports Day is a fantastic showcase of the various sports activities held in GIIS for the students.

The Primary and Secondary School students of Global Indian International School (GIIS) Bangalore celebrated the 5th Annual Sports Meet on 9th Nov, 2017 with a lot of verve and jubilation in their hearts. The Chief Guest for the Meet was Mr.Vikram Jeet Singh, a National level Basketball player who is currently working as a manager in SportzVillage (Manager-Sportz Leagues & Tour). The house wise march past with Band troop marked the start of the Meet. The formal inauguration of the meet was conducted after the inspiring speeches by the Chief Guest and Mr. Ganesh Sharma (Principal), with the releasing of the balloons. The aspiring GIIS horse riding students offered respect in a stately manner. The torch relay followed by the oath taking ceremony was conducted with pride. After the retreat march, there was a Welcome Song. The main events comprised of 50 mtrs and 100 mtrs Sprint for boys and girls (Grade1,2), 50 mtrs Hurdles for boys and girls, 50 mtrs Motor Skills for boys and girls 100 mtrs Indian Dribbling for boys, 100 mtrs Skipping race for girls, 4x100 mtrs Relay for boys and girls. The Hoops Drill Display, Ribbon Drill Display, Yoga Display, Mass Drill Display, Martial Arts Display, Grand Finale Dance encompassed different talents of students, pertaining to Sports. The Relay race for teachers was great and the students in turn cheered all the teachers who participated.

The importance of holistic well-being is a must at GIIS with a focus on body, mind and soul. With the finest faculty on board to impart Sports education, every GIISian shines out best in what they choose in this field.
