Kids get creative at little chef and healthy treats

GIIS Bannerghatta Father's Day celebration

Enthusiastic kindergarten students eagerly took part in the Little Chef event ‘Healthy Treats.' They assisted their mom’s in preparing a healthy meal. GIIS Balestier kindergarten students and their mothers assembled in the canteen to prepare a healthy dish using the main ingredients coconut, cheese, spinach, and corn. Spending time with their mom’s and cooking new recipes helps children to develop a positive connection to all different types of foods including fruits and vegetables. Children also learn necessary cooking skills that they can use for the rest of their lives.

They prepared healthy treats like cheesy rolls, rainbow sandwiches, salad, sweet treat with coconut and dry fruits, creative sandwich. Children enjoyed each other’s dishes. Working together in making the dishes was a great way for the kids to connect with one another and appreciate the meal prepared by all.

Teaching students about cooking with parents is highly important because the lessons that they learn at the young age will impact their attitude towards life like valuing food and care for the environment.
