School Green Award is an annual event organized by Singapore Enivronment Council to honour the activities done by schools for inspiring every individual to adopt sustainable living and care for our environment.

Imparting knowledge to children about environmental awareness, values, commitments and sustainable living is a lifelong learning process. This has been the motto of Global Indian International School, Balestier Campus. The school has been chosen to be the proud winner of Lotus Sustained Achievement Award for 4^th year in succession for the innovative environmental projects and Best 3R award for primary. In addition to it, GIIS Balestier is also a proud winner of Daisy Sustained Achievement Award for pre-school category for 3^rd year in succession and best 3R award for pre-school. The event was held on November 8, 2017 at the ITE College, East. The occasion was graced by the Guest of Honour Mr. Ng Chee Meng, Minister of Education (Schools) and Second Minister for Transport.

The students were advocates for Upcycling Tetra Pak’s to useful products thus emphasizing the reduce of waste and improving the efficiency of resource use. GIIS Balestier’s environmental education emphasises the teaching of the holistic nature of the environment through hands on activities, problem -solving and advocacy approaches from an early age.

In this world of modern life where it is very important to connect our students to nature through positive environmental action and creating harmony between humanity and nature. Students of GIIS Balestier campus are proud of their commitment towards environment and inspiring every one to adopt sustainable living and value the environement.
