Tagore Tathagath of 5B, GIIS Balestier has excelled at Kids Athletics competition organized by ActiveSG at Home of Athletics, Singapore on Saturday, 02 Sep 2017.
National sport movement ActiveSG launched more clubs and academies this year, offering younger generation access to both traditional and non-traditional games.
He has secured Silver trophy (Second Position) in Track and Field event which included Sprint Race, Hurdles Race, Long Jump, Overhand throw, Long Jump and Endurance Run. He competed with 20 other children in category B,ment for 8 - 10yr olds.
Kids Athletics competition was aimed to bring the hidden potentials of the young children in the field of athletics. It also enforced the values of resilience, team work, and honour among the children.
Singapore's National athletes Ms Nur Izlyn Zaini, 100m Hurdles Bronze medallist, SEA games 2017 and Kugapriya Chandran participant of 4x100m at SEA games 2017 made their presence, cheered and encouraged all the participants.
Tagore is proud to receive the award from Mr C. Kunalan who is one of Singapore's greatest athletes, earned five Asian Games and nine Southeast Asian Peninsular Games medals. Tagore is greatly inspired and motivated by knowing their success stories.
