We pledge to plant more trees for a greener tomorrow: GIIS A’bad

Today, the world carries a grim picture of itself, smothered unToday, the world carries a grim picture of itself, smothered under smoke, pollution and global warming. The burning topic everywhere among the young, old, students, businessmen, leaders and politicians, is saving our environment. Even the governments across countries meet often to chalk out plans on global warming, decreasing carbon footprints and tackling pollution. But, what is missed out always is how to increase our green cover, which will slowly help the world vade through the present scenario and make it a better place to live.

If we join hands, even in our neighbourhoods, schools or form groups to plant trees, this will slowly but surely make a difference. In our little effort towards saving our planet, our students at Global Indian International School Ahmedabad, have initiated a campaign. The little hands have pledged to plant saplings in and around the school campus. Around 150 saplings have already been planted in the school’s front ground and are being looked after daily.

GIIS follows Nine Gems teaching methodology which sharpens and focuses students’ aptitude in nine spheres of learning. And, ‘Community Connection’ is one of the Gems which focuses on nurturing empathy, building green environment and helping the underprivileged.

So, to strive towards a greener campus and contributing in our own little way to the betterment of our environment, our students will engage in tree plantation all year round. Because, we believe that our consistent little efforts will make a huge difference to us and everybody around us!
