This School Band, Choir Eye to Abolish Social Taboos

A school’s music band is the life of any school campus. For this year, Global Indian International School Ahmedabad launched the school’s official Music Band and Choir on this Independence Day.

The Music Band comprises of the students (from Grade 1-8) who can play guitars, tabla, bongo, keyboards, etc. We are excited to share that they have already prepared a 16-beat fusion music. Alongside, a Choir with a good mix of classical and western singers, has also been meticulously formed.

On the Independence Day, the Band with their 16-beat instrumental jig bowled over the chief guest, ace wicket-keeper Parthiv Patel as well as all the guests present. In addition, it also stole the show with their rendition of a Hindi patriotic song.

The Band which comprises both vocalists and instrumentalists, will be trained by music teacher Ravi Patadiya and percussionist and instrumentalist, William Christian.

The students of the Band in its entirety say, “Music lifts us up. We always wanted to be a part of the school Band and it’s an honour to have got such an opportunity. We are working on fusion music and songs at present along with songs based on patriotism, child labour, friendship, saving the girl child, etc.”

The Music Band and Choir, collectively, are engaged in music that will carry a social message with every performance and wish to contribute towards the betterment of the society with their music.
