GIIS Ahmedabad celebrated International Yoga Day on Wednesday, 21st June to bring peace, harmony, happiness, and success to every soul of GIIS family.
INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY which was advocated by Honourable Prime Minister of India Sri Narendra Modi and which has come in vogue to be celebrated on 21st June to make the world avail of India’s great cultural heritage that leads people to be physically fit, mentally healthy and spiritually awakened.
At Global Indian International School (GIIS) Ahmedabad the day started with Omkar chanting and various yoga presentations by students and teachers. The benefits of yoga were presented in a form of dramatic play by students and teachers to create awareness of origin and importance of yoga.
The students, teachers and staff were glad to be led by Yoga Guru Ms Neerja Shukla on the occasion of International Yoga Day. She demonstrated various asanas and explained in details the benefits of practising the asanas in daily routine. She inspired the students to inculcate yoga habits which gives peace, concentration, healing and happiness. All the students, teachers and Principal Sir practiced the asanas along with her and took a pledge to practice yoga in their daily routine. The young champs of K2 A presented different yoga asanas like Suryanamaskar, Dandasana, Dahnurasana, Vakrasana and Trikosana. Their prefect poses and presentations captivated the audience.
The Principal on the occasion. addressed the students and teachers to inherit Yoga as a rich Indian tradition which is India’s gift to the world.
International Yoga Day at GIIS Ahmedabad created an Aura of Positivity.
