National Day & Commemoration Day

GIIS Celebrates UAE National Day

It was on 2nd December 1971 that UAE, as we know, today came into existence. It was the concerted effort of the leaders of the 7 Emirates and decades old dream of people of these emirates to be united into one single union. Ever since then, the UAE National Day is a festival for the whole nation in which the citizens as well as expatriates celebrate the Spirit of the union.

Global Indian International School joined the rest of the nation and its residents in celebrating the National Day to respect and cherish the spirit of the Union. The spirit of the celebration spread throughout the campus in the form of bulletin board decorations, classrooms with UAE decoration flag, banners, and streamers across the corridors. The National Day brought out the sense of belongingness everyone felt in this wonderful country.

The program started with the recital of verses from the Holy Quran followed by UAE and Indian National Anthems. Our Principal Mr.Ramesh Mudgal welcomed everyone on the occasion of National Day Celebrations. In a short but highly interactive speech, he emphasized the significance of National Day for seven emirates and their residents. Everyone gathered was amazed at the knowledge displayed by our students during the short quiz conducted by our Principal on the UAE Geography, Language and Heritage.

One of the spectacular shows by the students was the formation of the UAE flag with the “Aana Jandi” song in the background. The pride and reverence on the faces of the students for having chosen to form the UAE National Flag was evident throughout the event. Another highlight of the programme was the dance performed by KG-2 for the song “Emarati Emarati”. It was a remarkable performance done by Kindergarten. It was a feast to the eye to see enthusiastic students take part in the National Day Celebrations dressed up in the UAE flag colours.

Finally the program ended with the students and staff resolving to do their best to help UAE continue to grow into successful nation forever.

The staff members and parents joined in the celebration with equal enthusiasm. Students put up dazzling perfomance by presenting a traditional UAE dance. It is a great way to celebrate the UAE 44th birthday with the tiny-tots.

GIIS Observes Commemoration Day

Commemoration Day was observed at Global Indian International School on 30th November to salute the martyrdom of Emirati heroes who lost their lives restoring hope in Yemen. This Day will recognize and respect the sacrifices and dedication of Emirati martyrs, who have given their lives in the UAE and abroad in the field of civil, military and humanitarian service.

To honor the day, a number of commemorative events were held at the school. The UAE National Flag was lowered at 8:00 am as a mark of respect. All the teachers and staff gathered at the corridor at 11:30 am to observe a minute of silence in respect to the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country. This was followed by hoisting of the flag to full mast while playing the UAE national anthem.

The martyrs of UAE are still alive among us in our hearts and as their memory is immortalized in our minds by their sacrifices, honor and good behavior inspiring the new generation, illuminating the way for them, giving them determination and strong will as well as the values of loyalty and patriotism with all that the dignity for nation is held strong forever.

GIIS salutes these heroes!
