Mèlange; an annual amalgamation of performing arts, was a perfect platform to showcase the talents of the tiny tots of GIIS Abu Dhabi. The little artists of Kindergarten transported the audience to a world of wonders through a musical, "Magical Woods". Children love the world of fantasies, delving in their imaginative mind, the spell-bound audience journeyed through different fantasy worlds. As the audience traversed across these worlds they eventually came back to a wonderful zone of happiness and togetherness, the realisation of which echoed in the song, ‘it’s a small world after all.’
Mèlange was a two-day journey that the adorable little ones embarked from 17th to 18th of February 2016. They captivated the hearts of their parents and guests through a marvelous presentation. The state-of-the-art multi-purpose hall came to life with the performance of over more than 500 students and the presence of their parents and many other guests who were happy to be a part of this grand celebration.

Mr. Atul Temurnikar, Chairman and Co-founder of Global Schools Foundation, in the capacity of Chief Guest shared the larger vision for GIIS Abu Dhabi and its implementation plan in the years to come. Guest of Honour for the opening day was Mr. Ramesh Panicker, President of India Social and Cultural Centre Abu Dhabi, and the special guests accompanying him were, Mr. M.A. Salam, Secretary of India Social and Cultural Centre Abu Dhabi and Mr. Nanda Kumar, President of Science India Forum Abu Dhabi. Guest of Honour Mr. Iqbal Hamza, Managing Director of Agthia Group and special guest Mr. Kamal Gupta, COO of Global Schools Foundation, graced the programme on the second day. The guests were delighted to see the excellent performance of small children and complimented the school for instilling confidence and positivity in the students. The programme commenced with recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the UAE and Indian National Anthems. The choir of young folks was an instant hit as melodious voices wowed the audience with a welcome song. Mr. Ramesh Mudgal, Principal GIIS Abu Dhabi, welcomed the audience and presented a report on the progress made by the school in its first year of inception.
After the formal ceremony, the story of ‘Magical Woods’ unfolded. A group of children partying at their friend’s place, while playing in the yard, meets two bunnies who lead them to the woods to find a treasure box. They peep into it and find alphabets and as they formed words, to their amazement, each word was a name of a wonder world!
Once they read aloud, they were transported to the world of Candy land, Water world, Arabian world, Robot world, Musical world, Jungle world, party land, circus world and the Sky world. The children watched in awe the sun, moon and stars dance. Little animals, robots, party clowns, birds and flowers danced around them and the abundance of life was beautifully showcased through the musical. The adventurous journey ended with the song, ‘it is a small world after all...’ Underlying message was that of spreading friendship and happiness in the world. Finally, the kindergarteners bid adieu to the audience with a lovely farewell dance. These tiny tots with their dazzling display of dances in tune with the rhyme and rhythm led the audience on a joyous trip to fantasyland.
The entire school comprising academic and non-academic staff came together to support the little ones and make the annual day a success.
